In his lifetime he did many voyages, but here are his two huge voyages. They are his first and his last. Cabot’s first voyage was in May 1497. He sailed out of Bristol on The Matthew, with 18 men. Later on the voyage Cabot and his crew went ashore and saw signs of habitation but no people. He named the region, Cape Discovery , Island of St. John, St. George’s Cape, Trinity Islands, and England's Cape. Cabot believed that he Had reached Asia’s northern coast. He returned to Bristol around August 1497.
His last voyage was Around 1498.John Cabot departed from Bristol and he left with five ships and 300 men. In those ships were ample provisions and small samplings of cloth, that he was going to trade. During the voyage one of the ships got disabled and sailed to Ireland, while the other four ships continued on. For many years it was believed that the other four ships were lost at sea.On other of his voyage he discovered the mainland of North America.
